This site contains images taken by Timothy Tonge, who has been shooting trains since the early 1970s.   Tim began shooting photographs in 1972 along the New York Susquehanna and Western in Hawthorne, NJ and the Erie Lackawanna in Ridgewood, at a time when E8s still pulled commuter trains, SD45s pulled hotshot freights, and RS-1's led NYSW locals.  In 1975, Tim relocated to Colorado for college, and thus began almost 30 years of western railroad photography.

This site is best viewed with a screen size of 1024x768, and a relatively high speed internet connection, as many images are in the 100K to 225K size range.
